Laying Laminate: Cost per Square Meter | Laying Parquet: Cost per Square Meter
Vinyl floors, like PVC floors, are produced from polyvinyl chloride. That is why the terms are often used synonymously. Vinyl has established itself as a term for floor coverings that are laid using the click method, PVC for meter goods on rolls. Vinyl floors and PVC floors are warm to the feet, hygienic, easy to clean, hard-wearing, resistant to water stains and UV light resistant. That is why they are mainly used in bathrooms or kitchens, but also in living areas loose laid or glued, most easily on flat floors. Vinyl floors and PVC have a service life of 20 years and can be fully recycled and returned to the production process.
The size of the room directly determines the cost, which depends on the material (vinyl or PVC and skirting boards), the cost of preparation and the cost of laying and / or gluing. Depending on the subfloor and vinyl floor or PVC floor, the preparation and laying or gluing give more or less to do.

A high-quality vinyl or PVC floor costs 80 to 100 Swiss francs per square meter. As a rule, these are floors that are clicked together. They are more expensive than yard goods, but the preparation is easier if the surface is flat. Good yard goods cost 60 to 80 Swiss francs per square meter and can be laid loosely if the subfloor is level. If not, the preparation effort is greater. With an expected life of 20 years, high-quality vinyl flooring or PVC flooring costs 4 to 5 Swiss francs per square meter, and good yard goods cost 3 to 4 Swiss francs per square meter per year. In addition, 10 to 20 Swiss francs per linear meter for the skirting boards.
Expect to pay 40 to 60 Swiss francs per square meter for preparation and 20 to 40 Swiss francs per square meter for installation or bonding. If the preparation - cleaning the subfloor, removing old flooring and disposing of it properly, cementing joints, sealing expansion joints and sanding doors - is very time-consuming, the preparation costs can rise to 80 Swiss francs per square meter. The bottom line is that you should expect labor costs of 60 to 120 Swiss francs per square meter. The large range is due to the possible additional services in the preparation. Skirting board installation is charged at the normal hourly rate (80 to 100 Swiss francs).
